Loading filter dropdowns in Front-end

10 years 6 months ago #66 by Gordon
I am trying to add the filters that are in the Front-end model (added by JCC) to the top of a list view in the Front-end template. The back-end does this quite well but uses a specific JCC sidebar. Trying to equate this to the Front-end is a nightmare.

I have exhausted all the on-line tutorials as they are all clear as mud.

Hi Gordon,

I'm Victor, back-end developer of Component Creator. As you can see, it's quite hard to replicate the functionality of back-end filtering in the front-end.

I would recommend you to add a form in the front-end that has been sent when a dropdown widget change, and I would add a method that checks if any of those filter are in the request and bind them in the state of the model, and like our components do in the back-end, add some where clauses in the query depending on the filtering data.

Am i to undertstand that Component Creator does NOT create Frontend Filtering and Sorting???? I'm unable to make it appear if it does, and seems like a deal breaker for me if it doesn't.

Please let me know ASAP so that I don't invest further time---much appreciated! I love the product, don't get me wrong, but this is critical for me and the alternatives do have that feature :))

Hi Greg,

A few weeks ago we improve our front-end generation including sorting on the list view, and also a search plugin on our premium members components that include the component built with our system on Joomla search.

We have planned to include filtering in the future, so if that fits with your requeriments we would love to see you on board and enjoy our new features and the things that will come in the future.

Best regards

Filtering is of the utmost importance to the project. Is there an estimated release date for that feature? We purchased only a 1 month subscription to see if it would be usable, and without it we can't use your product. If the release of filtering is too far out, we can't afford to wait.

Hello Greg

We will definitively add front end filtering in the future but we won't be able to do it in a month. I am sorry I can't give you an exact estimated time, but we can't as it hasn't even been evaluated yet.

May I ask you to add it to our "feature requests" section
