My premium account cost 108 euros last year and now it is 228? Sorry, but greed I do not support.

Hello Gordon

When we released Component Creator, the 1 year subscription was 12 months for the price of 3. That was a 69% off the price of purchasing 12 months: €348.  Now we are giving away 4 months with that subscription, a 35% discount off those €348. Our decision of reducing that discount wasn't made out of greed and we think it's fair. In these last 2 years we have added:
1. A module creator
2. A Search plugin for the component
3. A Database updater on install
4. At least 15 new Joomla fields, including the new tags field
5. Significantly Improved Foreing Key Field and SQL Field
6. A Database import that makes easy to migrate components from old versions or other systems
7. ACL management for each individual field
8. The option to add parameters to components
9. The option to add empty views to a component
10. A Wiki
11. This user forum
12. Probably many more small things like code improvements.

We also plan to keep adding many more features to make Joomla development easier and faster for everybody.

That said, we are working in an automatic 20% discount for every JCC user that renews their subscription before it finishes.

I hope this clarifies everything.

Best regards,

Andrés.

Yes and many of those things were via suggestions/feedback, but I do not (YET) see any reward for existing users; only pay the full amount each year. I went to renew (within) the expiry, but all I saw was a doubling of what I paid last time, and quite frankly is not a good business model if you wish to grow. With competition from the likes of FABRIK you really need to revisit your strategy.
I mainly develop for NFP and make very little off any work that I do. All that I ask for is fair treatment in the renewal process.

Hi Gordon

Yes, we use user feedback and suggestions to decide how Component Creator should evolve. We believe the tool has to be for it users and  we have historically received a lot of praise for doing so. This doesn't mean the coding or support comes from our users - we put a lot of effort to implement all those features and maintain the quality levels.

As I said, the 20% discount is not available yet but I have contacted you via ticket to offer it. It is available for every user willing to renew though we will have to do it manually.

I have checked Fabrik prices and they're exactly the same that ours with our discounts: €20 /month for the standard subscription. Anyway, I encourage you to use the service that provides the best value for you, if that service is not Component Creator, we hope we can improve it so it can be worth your money in the future.
