URL field type was created by Walt Sorensen
It would be nice to have access to the URL field type for Joomla 3+ components.
The text field with URL filtering is not as robust a solution as the URL field with optional URL filtering and an optional url rule.

This is an extension of my request to support all standard Joomla field types.

If it's an standard field, we will add it soon. We added 11 new standard fields a couple of weeks ago but will add over the following months any other field when you request them www.component-creator.com/en/forum/announcements
