Hello ppl.
I've learned a technical job in electronics and went over to PC support in the old millennium. Started software development in 2001 building small MS Access applications. Now I'm building components for a big CAE system using WPF and C# using all benefits of modern software architecture (OOP,UML,TDD,...).
As I became a member of a registered nonprofit association in animal protection, they asked me if I could develop an online database which can handle the adoption of their pets. That was about two years ago. With very basic knowledge of web development I started a small user managment system in pure php before stumbling upon the joomla cms. I started learning and loving it. After months of searching for components that would suite, or at least be close toour needs, I started learning php development using the joomla MVC pattern. Even with my job knowledge of a bunch of design patterns, I had a very hard time building my first component.
During another extended web search a few days ago I ran into www.component-creator.com. Jut did a fiew quick tests and ... why the heck didn't I find your site earlier? :D
I found that the generated component already had a really good MVC structure, used all the joomla framework goodies and is really well formed.
My association will buy a full membership in the coming days / weeks, probably a 12 month one.
Since I'm coming out of the "database corner", I'm very anxious to see how the sql importer comes along with the rather complicated structure we need.
Keep up the good work, guys.
Regards,
Volker (VWFD e.V.)

Hi Volker!
Thank you for your introduction, It's always nice to know Component Creator is such an useful tool for everyone.
The SQL import is very easy to use but its guts are really complex, so don't hesitate to ask for support in case you need it: component-creator.com/contact
Regards,
Andrés.

Hi Andrés.
Thanks for the hint. I just finished a first import test of our schema. Maybe there's a little finetuning left, but it worked just like a charme.

Alright, I did a build of the basic structure and installed it to my xampp environment.
...
Impressing
...
No frontend views, sure. But all tables can be edited in the backend. Sure there's still a lot work left. We have quite some n:m tables that don't need direct editing and the frontend views need to be created.
All in all the component creator saved us weeks (if not monhts) of work.
Keep it up guys
